Ignorance Is Bliss!

WARNING: FAMILY MEMBERS, THIS MAY CAUSE YOU TO BECOME UPSET, BUT I HAD TO VENT.

This evening, something happened that I luckily hadn't had to face in 12yrs. One of the biggest fears I always had was that someday someone would make fun of Erin. Well, apparently, about 4 weeks ago, Alex was at a friends house and some other kid was there and they got into a verbal arguement, this kid(well, he is actually 18) told Alex "Why don't you go home and play with your retarded sister." Alex never once said anything to me about this. The only reason I found out was because I was talking to his friends mom and she was saying that she didn't like this other kid and then she told me what happened. She heard it and laid into the kid, he ended up apoligizing, but she told him that's not the point, he shouldn't be so ignorant to say something like that. She told her husband and he said that he was lucky that he was at work and didn't hear it, because he would have knocked the kid out. I asked Alex why he didn't tell me, he said he was too mad. He told his friends mom that he is very protective of his sister. I just have a wide range of emotions about this. I'm upset, pissed, I want to smack the kid. I'm also a little worried about Alex. I wonder if this is the first time this has happened. I never want him to have this burden, but I guess I knew that he would one day have to stick up for his sister. I'm also proud of him, he didn't lay a hand on the other kid. I haven't told Dan yet. I'm kind of afraid to. He will definately over-react. The sad thing is. This kid has only seen Erin once. I guess I should just accept that their are stupid people out there, but I guess I've been sheltered from it. I figure that we all adore her and everyone else should. Live and learn. I will definately be having a heart to heart with Alex about this one.

I'm sorry, but I needed to vent.

The Princess's Birthday!

This is my baby. Today is her 12th birthday. I can't believe it. I woke her up singing to her and recieved one of her big toothy smiles. She is such a sweety. We are having cake for her tonight. She got her favorite Taco Gringo on Monday. She was in heaven. She took treats for her friends at school today. Her teacher wanted to know what Erin might want to do special. I told him she would be tickled if they sang B-I-N-G-O to her. She loves that silly song. We sing to her all the time. I think that she laughs at us because we sing so off key. Alex sings the oldie Downtown to her. She is spoiled.

Forgiveness.

It seems I need to tell Marcia I'm sorry for the blonde joke. She informed me that she is a natural flaming redhead. So, it would appear that the carpet does not match the drapes. he he he.......Could not resist. Marcia, you set yourself up for that one.

I finally figured out why animals eat their young. So that they don't have to put up with teenagers. I am about ready hit mine up side the head. geez......He is just full of it tonight. But he did spend the weekend with his dad, so that always messes him up.

I made Special K treats tonight, and they did turn out good. I did do one thing different than Mom, instead of making individual ones, I just spread them out on a cookie sheet, like Rice Krispy treats. They are yummy.

It's been raining all day. I was so ready to fall asleep before supper, but of course now I am wide awake. The princess won't stay in bed either. Oh well, at least she gets to sleep in tomorrow, she probably won't because she'll hear me trying to wake up Al.

I'm still trying to decide what kind of birthday cake to make for her. I'd really like to make ice cream pie, but finding the Nut N Honey for it has proven very difficult. I'll just have to try it with a different cereal and see if that works.

Well, it's past time for hubby to call, so I'm done for tonight.

The Doctor Visit.

I went to my Dr. yesterday. I told him, I'm a teepee, I'm a wigwon. He said I'm too tents. lol.

How does a blonde(Marcia, lol, kidding) turn on the light after sex? She opens the car door. he he

Why was Frosty the Snowman smiling? He heard Torro the snowblower was coming to town.

How many men does it take to change the toilet paper roll? I don't know, it's never been done.

What's the differance between boogers and brussel sprouts? Kids don't like to eat brussel sprouts.

What do you call a redneck with no arms or legs that falls into the lake? Live bait.

Another Saturday Night.

Last night, we met Alex and Erin's dad so he could have the boy for the weekend. Erin did pay a little attention to her dad, but when Dan got out of the van, she went over to him and ignored her dad. I guess that is to be expected. Bill should really try to get to know her. She's a riot. I can somewhat understand him being uncomfortable around her, he was never around disabled people, but on the other hand, it's his daughter and he really needs to get over it. We asked if Dan could adopt the kids, and he said definately not Alex and he wasn't even sure that he wanted to give up rights to Erin. I thought that was a step in the right direction, but not much has become of it. I just want to make sure that if anything happens to me, she won't be cut off from Dan because they have a very close relationship.

After we got Alex on his way, we went to Dan's brothers house. The nephews wanted to show us their dirt slide. They are so cute and filthy, but boy do they have fun. I ended up giving them a bath because they wouldn't let anyone else do it, they wanted Aunt Ami. Then after the kiddies went to sleep, we played Boggle and Scatagories, it was a lot of fun. We came home and I ended up watching LaBamba, I haven't seen it in ages. Woke up this morning and did some cleaning. Mom got here a little after 3. I made chicken shit for supper. It's one of hubby's favorite dinners. He went to work and we've been chilling for the evening. Watched Cops. It was new episodes. The princess is PMSing, so her moods are swinging like a monkey in a tree. Tomorrow, we go to pick up Alex. So that's my weekend.

Well, I'm going to bed soon.

Here's an Update.

I'M TIRED AND GOING TO BED.

The Joys of Dish Network.

We are getting some rain, much needed too. But the bad thing is, our dish keeps going out. Hubby is at work and Alex stayed over at a friends, and the princess is in bed. So it's very quiet. I have the t.v. on for background noise, but it keeps going out. I did watch a movie with the princess earlier. The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. That was nice and killed half an hour. I might go put in another movie. I don't know. Nothing sounds good and I'm bored. Maybe I will just go to bed. Not.

Life has been pretty quiet lately. We went to mom's yesterday. I had to take hubby to this new store in the mall called World Market. It is so cool. There is so much to see. We didn't have enough time. Plus they didn't have wheelchairs and the princess got really tired of walking. I'm so lucky, hubby likes to shop and is interested in so much. Weird. Of course, I took him to Linens and Things. He wanted to go to Sears to drool over tools, but we ran out of time. The mall closes at 6 on Sundays. I think if someone gave Dan 5,000 bucks and said spend it on whatever but don't pay bills with it, he would buy tools, and still not have everything he wants. Some night, I will have to dress up like and drill and get him all hot. lol

Well, I can't think of anything else to say. So I'll stop for now.

The Milk At The Bottom Of The Cereal Bowl.

I have a big issue with drinking the milk leftover from the cereal. I find it really disgusting. Hubby and the kid think I'm nuts. There is just something about it that grosses me out. Hubby has even taken my bowl away from me and drank the milk before I could make it to the kitchen to dump it. Yuck. I wonder if I'm the only one with this issue. Am I really that weird?

We are having the best weather. I love it. It has been overcast and 65 today. It reminds me that fall is right around the corner and I couldn't be happier. I love fall and everything about it. The smells, the colors, visions of pumpkins and falling leaves. I was watching the news this morning and the weather guy said that this is the official last weekend of summer. Autumn begins on the 22nd. Yippee. But of course the weather is supposed to warm up into the 80's again this weekend. On the weather they also said that we haven't had a daytime temp in the 60's since May. Wow. I actually wore jeans. It felt so weird. I have my windows open right now. I will have to turn the air back on this weekend. We live in a very old brick house and the windows and screens suck. Since we are renting, there isn't a whole lot we can do about it. The landlord is aware of it but he doesn't really care. He is just happy that he has people that pay their rent and take care of the place. It took us 2 months worth of work before we could even move in here and I'm still not happy with it. Oh well, we won't be here forever.

This princess has a birthday coming up on the 28th, I can't believe my baby will be 12. It amazes me. Unfortunately, she is getting the body of a teenager and has the mind of a toddler. She's just beautiful. It's funny because she still climbs onto our laps to be rocked, last night she almost tipped the chair over that she and I were in. If she has shoes on and I don't, we almost see eye to eye. Of course Alex towers over me and he won't be 14 until April. Sometimes I look at him and think that he can't possibly be my son. I'm too young to have a teenager. I still remember him as a toddler and how watching Winnie the Pooh was a treat. Oh well, hubby says I have to let him grow up sometime. I don't want to.

Well, I'm going to go chill with the kids before I start supper. We are having ring bologna and mac and cheese, hubby has never had ring bologna, boy is he in for a treat. Especially since he has to work tonight. he he he

Pogo Must Love Me!

I met my husband on a gaming website called Pogo. We were both in a game room and some people were talking about being from the area I grew up in and I was talking to them and then hubby piped in when he found out where I lived and we just started talking from there. We agreed to meet and had our first date at the restaurant that my brother works at. So I was very safe about it. The date lasted 8 hrs. It was very nice and we really hit it off. Things moved very fast, which is very unusual for me. He was the only man I introduced my kids to. I had been divorced for 9yrs. Anyway, I was playing a new game on Pogo tonight and I won a $25 gift cert to Wal-mart. Of course, I'm not comparing that to finding love, but Pogo seems to be lucky for me. It's the little things. I happened to be talking to hubby on the phone when I won. And being the practical person that I seem to be lately, my first thought was that would buy a lot of meat for the family. I'm so weird lately.

My sister, also met her boyfriend on line, just through a differant route. She did, however, take him to my brothers restaurant on her first date. It seems to be a lucky place. She has been with Tater for a year now. Thats cool. I haven't been back to the restaurant since our date. I would like to go back. We should have on the anniversary in July, but we had a lot going on. Maybe next year.

Talked to my brother and mother tonight. They are relaxing on their vacation in Florida. That's good. Mike is exploring but Mom is having a good time just hanging out with her sister, Aunt Pinkie. Sounds like they are both doing just what they wanted to do.

If anybody knows anyone that would like 2 dogs, Milo and Otis. Let me know. They are Boston Terrier that might have gotten mixed with lab. They are good, but I think they need a place that they can run. I don't feel like I'm being a good mommy to them. So people, help me out and get them a home.

Well, it's almost time for the news. I'm off.

It's Good To Be Poor!

Dan is working tonight, but last night, we all had a heck of a time. I have these little waxing strips and the princess needed to have her little brow taken care of. Boy did I get an eat shit look. She didn't cry or really even flinch. But of course Dan and Alex both thought it looked like so much fun. So, they both got their unibrows waxed, or pulled out by the roots. Funny as hell. My son worries me sometimes. He asked me to wax his butt. I kept sticking strips on his legs. Funny stuff. We make our own entertainment around here.

The kid also pulled a tooth tonight. He just informed me to tell the tooth fairy he wants 5 bucks because it took him a lot of work. I asked him how old he was(13) so needless to say, there will be no tooth fairy visit. Geeze. The kid stopped believing in that stuff ages ago, but I think he likes to humor me, or just get paid.

We watched a couple of good movies tonight. Taxi and The Pacifier. It's nice to just hang out with the kid. Next weekend he will be visiting his dad. So that means hubby and I can be loud. lol. That is if we have time. We have to go to Springfield on Saturday to welcome Mom back from Florida. We can't do it on Sunday because Bill will be dropping Alex off. I'll have to remind him that his daughters birthday is coming up and I need to have a talk with him to make sure that if he doesn't let Dan adopt the kids, or at least Erin, that he needs to make sure that if something happens to me, Erin gets to see Dan or stay with him. She considers him her daddy. Bill never quite knew how to deal with her disabilities and Dan just kinda took over. She adores him and she melts his heart every day. He is such a softy when it comes to her. He loves both of my kids. I got really lucky.

Well, I'm thinking that I'll be hitting the hay, but my sister wanted me to update.

Run, Mimi, Run!

Today just seemed like non-stop running. Got the kids off to school then had to make a trip into Springfield that I wasn't planning on. Hubby was up from 2pm Wed. until 8ish tonight(Thurs), he did nap for an hour on the way to Springfield and an hour on the way home.

We did pick up a nice little shirt for the princess to get her school pic taken in. Paid 5 bucks at Fashion Bug for it. A lot of people don't realize that they have a big selection of jr.s and girl sizes. I got my step daughter lots of good deals there for school clothes. Erins pics are next Wed. I like how her school is doing it. They will send proofs home to choose from. They also said that we could send an outfit to change the kids into and they would make sure they look there best. When I worked at her last school with the older kids, pic day was a nightmare, getting the kids to smile and be clean was a challenge. I know how hard it is to get Erin to follow directions. Having a special needs child sure has its challenges. But it is also very rewarding. The little monkey is always surprising me with the things she can do. She has been fighting this cold that will not leave her and I wanted to check her temp tonight, so I took her arm out of her shirt sleeve while Dan got the thermometer, well apparently he took to long because she put her shirt back on. This went on several times. It's a big deal because I didn't know that she could do that. I knew that she can take her shoes off, usually while we are shopping, but putting stuff on is a different story all together. I told her that I'm going to make her do that all the time and she just laughed at me. I really think she understands a whole lot more than I realize, but she's my baby and I want to do it all for her. She also did something else surprising tonight. Dan was on the phone and Moms dog was on his lap, Erin got his rawhide chewing and was trying to stick it in his mouth, he wouldn't take it, so she went and gave it to Timmy the weiner dog. It amazed me that she paid attention and knew that was theirs. She is a stinker and she knows it.

Well, I am very tired so I'm going to drag hubby off the couch and crawl into bed.

Meatloaf!

So earlier this summer, there was a classics of rock double bill on tour. It was Meatloaf and Bread, they called the tour Sandwich. lol. Later they added Korn and changed the name to Dinner. Lol. I crack myself up.

I am reheating meatloaf for supper tonight. It's leftover night. Yippeee. I would rather have KFC, but it's the whole being on a budget thing. Hubby has to work anyway. Might as well send him off with a full belly. The princess finished off the rest of the biscuits and gravey for lunch today.

Erin has been sick. She didn't want to eat yesterday and she was sitting around looking like the glazed donut monster. Snot everywhere. Poor baby. She had a slight fever since Sunday evening. I was 100 this morning, but it's down now and she has her appitite and energy back. Still full of snot. But as long as she stays fever free tonight, she will be going to school tomorrow.

Had some really good steak yesterday. It had been a long time. Yummy. Mom made scallopped corn and I made baked potatoes. Dan did discover, last night, that he does like cottage cheese on his instead of sour cream. He said it adds a whole different flavor. Of course, I told him so.

Alex was back to school today. He was a little jealous of the princess because she didn't have school Friday and then missed today, so she had quite the break. Oh well, there are times that he is off and she isn't. He finished school before she did last May.

Well, that's all I can think of. Thought I better update to make the fans(not) happy. Here it is, Lisa.

Let's Talk About the Other Gas.

The cost of farting is getting too high. I had to eat 6 hot wings to get a good one out. My son seems to be able to let the rip at will(not at his Uncle Will). There are some nights that I think something crawled up in him and died. The princess will not be undone either. She is able to get some long ones out. She giggles her pretty little head off. You know that you are in for it when she leans over. The cat has some really raunchy ones, too. And I don't want to get into the dogs, but I guess any animal that eats cat poo is bound to smell bad.

My brother did a list of things that he is grateful for. So I will follow suit.

1. First and foremost is family, hubby, kids, mommy, brothers, sister, aunt and uncle, and then my new extended family.

2. Music and movies.

3. Summer vacation and school holidays, I love having my kids home.

4. Fall, I do love the weather and pumpkin patches.

5. Doritoes and jalepino dip.

6. Mt. Dew.

7. Batteries, the princess wouldn't have any fun toys without them.

8. This dumb computer. On nights when hubby is working and the boy is staying over at someone elses house, it is my lifeline to the outside world.

9. My cell phone. It makes talking to my mom everyday easy.

10. The doctor that tied my tubes and the doctor that snipped hubby. When we first got married, we thought it would have been nice to have one of our own, but that wasn't possible. After having his kids here for the summer, we are both happy the dicisions were made before we met! Besides, we have little nephews to steal when we want a baby fix.

Peace, love, and back waxing for everyone!!!
