Spaghetti and Meatloaf.

I called my sister tonight to see how she was feeling, because she was coming down with the crud and wasn't able to make it over for a visit. She's feeling better. I told her we had spaghetti and meatballs for supper and she thought I said spaghetti and meatloaf, yuck! I could not even imagine what that combo would be like. People think that doritoes and orange juice are gross, but I think it's a great combo. I ate it all the time when I was preggers with Alex. I still enjoy them. Oh well, to each his own.

Alex has survived the weekend without his computer or cell phone. He did ask me tonight if he could call his friends to let them know why he was ignoring them. I stood firm and said that if he has a good day at school tomorrow, then he can have the phone back, like I told him the other day. He seemed okay with it. He didn't fight me. He was hinting that he probably had 80 e-mails, I told him to just think of how many he'll have when he gets his computer back. lol. I was a mean mommy, again. He didn't give me crap about it. He either believes I'm serious or he will try to catch me at a weak moment.

I cleaned Erin's ears tonight and I made one of them bleed. I didn't even stick the Q-tip inside of the ear. She probably stuck her finger in her ear after her shower to get at the water. Who knows. I just feel bad. I went to put her to bed and she had a toy up to her ear listening to it and when I took the toy, she had blood on her and the toy. I just can't get away from the blood.

Teenagers!Arghhhhhh!

As much as I love my son, he can drive me absolutely insane. He had a career day field trip and he ended up screwing around and getting into trouble, I expect so much more out of him, but he had an audiance. He called and said that he had to stay after school and I told him I was disappointed in him and he hung up on me. Yikes! Needless to say, there was more to the story and I won't go into it, but I ended up unhooking his computer and took away his cell phone. He'll probably get the phone back on Monday, long boring weekend for him, but oh well, the computer on the other hand, has to be earned back. At his school, you go up a level each week and I told him he doesn't get the computer back until he gets to A level, which can take 6 weeks. I feel I might be a little hard on him, but he needs to learn to control himself. He's still able to play basketball in our driveway with friends but they cannot come into the house until he learns to behave and he still has his t.v. So it's not like it was when I was grounded. I'm just a softy and feel bad, but I have to stand my ground because he is getting older and he is only going to walk all over me, so, I'll be tough and disliked for a while. I'll live with it, he doesn't hold a grudge, but he will try to sway me, so I need to be strong. Big sigh.

On another note, I am going to go shopping for some chunky-heeled black(cheap) shoes to wear when hubby and I celebrate the anniversary. He's working his tail off tonight so I won't worry about the bills, so I will enjoy myself no matter what, because I want to make him happy. I just feel bad about him having to work overtime, I would do it, but unfortunately, I don't get a lot of hours with my job right now. It's actually driving me nuts. I have a job I like and I only get to go for sure on Saturdays and whenever Karen wants off. The plus side is that she has 5 weeks of vacation coming to her, and she plans on taking some when it warms up. But I want to work now. "stamping feet"

Erin has been so wound up lately. She is just so giggly and loud. It's cute for a while, but she just doesn't stop. I should be glad that she isn't screaming and unhappy. Plus, she is the princess. Tonight I told her that there will be another princess soon, and she smiled. I told her Trenton was going to bring a baby and it might be a girl, but she will be the first princess, Jayden will be the little princess. Erin just grinned at me. Sometimes, I think she understands more than I give her credit for.

Momma Bear and the Unromantic.

Momma Bear.
A couple of weeks ago, Dan, the kids, and I went to our favorite restaurant, The Courthouse Inn. That is where Dan and I had breakfast with our families after we go married last year. Since then, it has become our favorite place and the owner, at least I think she is, always remembers us and comes to talk to us. So we were eating and she was talking to us, asking Al how old he was and just odds and ends. She has a 13 yr old daughter who likes to talk on the computer too. Al gave her his e-mail address and they started talking, not a big deal. Well Sunday, Al meets her and one of her friends to go to the movies, not a date, but just so he could make some friends and get to know her better. Apparently, the movie starts and she and the friend tell Al they will be right back, they never come back. Al calls me after the movie to pick him up at McDonalds, I ask where she is and he says he doesn't know. After we get home, he is chatting on line to one of his friends and her. I said something innocent to him and he gets very upset and storms out of the room to his bedroom and starts crying. I go in and he tells me all of this, plus, she just told him that she went and sat with another boy. I was crushed that I couldn't help my son out. I told him that I try to protect him from these things and I was just so sorry. I was crying too. He told me that it wasn't my fault and that it was going to happen to him sometime in his life and that it was better that it happens now rather than later. What a good boy. He handled it very well, he was upset but he still handled it well. Being the momma that I am, I still get upset thinking about it. I guess I can't protect him from everything no matter how hard I try.

The Unromantic. That would be me also, apparently. I have a very practical side to me. I worry about the bills being paid and the kids getting what they need before I take care of my needs. Hubby is trying so hard to make sure our anniversary is special, I, on the other hand, am worried about making sure we have money for other things. Well, he has been offered overtime and will work a week straight of 12 hr days just so that he can make me happy and spoil me. Does this mean I don't appreciate him? I do love him and want to spend a night out in a hotel with him, but I get worried about bills and all the other day to day stuff. But, with him making the extra money, I feel better about taking some for ourselves. I try to be romantic, but I guess I'm just too practical. Oh well. I love him and will enjoy the night now. He'll be racking up the overtime and money will be sweet. Of course I will spoil him while he is pulling the shifts.

Other than that, life is good. lol

I'm glad to hear that Charlie is settling in nicely with Aunt Pinkie and Uncle Butch, he sounds like a sweety.

Recap, for Lin.

This post is for Lin. She's had some questions about my confusing life. I can't blame her and I don't mind answering them. So here goes.

1. I have 2 children, Alex, the boy is going to be 14 on April 6, Erin, the princess, turned 12 in Sept. Now on to the confusing part. I got re-married on 3-4-05, he has 3 children that live in CT. Whitney turned 10 in Sept. Jacob turned 6 in Aug and Isaiah turned 5 in Aug, we get them for the summer.

2. I started working part-time for the post office in Dec. I'm the Postmaster Relief.

3. My mom is wonderful. After my divorce from the kids' dad in 95, we lived with her until Oct of 04 when I moved in with hubby. Mom will be retiring in 2yrs and decided that she didn't want to live in Springfield, IL so we bought a big house together and things are going great. I'm very lucky. She and hubby get along great and with all of the different hours we work, somebody is always here for the kids. Plus, when we lived an hour and a half apart, it was hard on my kids not seeing her all the time.

4. Erin is disabled. At first I was told that she had Cornelia de Lange syndrome, pretty rare, but at least I could read about it and I actually worked with kids that had it. A couple of years ago, after a routine trip to the genetisist, I was told that she does not have it, however, she does have a chromosome abnormality that nobody else has ever been diagnosed with. So she does have a syndrome, the Dr. calls it Erin's syndrome. She is so easy to take care of, right now she is curious like a 2 yr old, but she doesn't get into all the trouble. She knows she's the princess. She is the youngest grandchild and the only girl, except now she has a step-sister, so that's not a big deal for her. She's cool with it. However, one of my nephews is going to be a dad soon, so there just might be another little girl around.

5.Alex is the typical teenage boy, except he has my twisted sense of humor. He's a good kid. We have a lot of fun with him.

That's it in a nutshell. I'm sure there is more, but I don't want to bore you all too much.

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y, Night!

What a busy day yesterday, I had to be to work at 7:45. Hubby got home at 7:15. He ended up getting to sleep around 8:30 and then he had to wake up at 11 to take Alex to sign up for baseball because I didn't get off work until noon. Then we got all ready and went to Springfield because Petsmart was having a pet adoption and there was a dog we wanted to look at, but it got adopted before we got there, we did, however, fall in love with a siamise mix cat. Beautiful. We also picked up some new rocks and greenery for the turtle, he likes to mix up his surrroundings a bit. Then Mom took Alex and Erin with her and hubby and I went to Chili's, yummy. Then he and I spent about 3hrs walking around the mall. I did get some good deals and I finally got myself a new pair of sneakers. Adidias, I paid 22 bucks for them. I got Erin a cute pair of Sketchers for 15 bucks and one of Dan's little boys a pair of Airwalks for 6 bucks. I got Alex some pants at the Gap and I got him two belts because he can never find one. Plus a nice long sleeved polo shirt but I have to exchange it because it looks a little tight to me. Then, after the mall, we went to Wal-mart. I got the fixings for Mom to make me a cheesecake, again, yummy. Since Al made his week at school, he got some blank cd's, that was our deal. And I found the stuff for mom to make me new curtians for my bedroom. It was a busy but nice night out with my hubby. In 2 weeks, we celebrate my 34th birthday, and our 1st anniversary on Mar 4th. This year has gone fast. Hubby is still sleeping. I've been up for a couple of hours. The princess was up.

We're having bbq ribs for dinner tonight. But we need to go to Sears to look for a bigger hot water heater and a whole house water filter.

Congrats on the new dog Aunt Pinkie and Uncle Butch, he's adorable, now you will have to definately come up this summer so he can meet his cousins. I can't wait to see pics of Fancy, too.

Lisa told me that Jessica(Trents fiance) may be having the baby a few weeks early, like the end of March. The only problem right now is that the baby is breech. There is still time it can turn itself, but we'll just have to see. I keep telling Lisa that it will be a girl. Of course, she will be a daddy's girl. My nephew loves kids. He was always so good with Erin, he'll be a good daddy. A plus is that he knows how to change diapers already. See Jessica, we had him trained for you. I guess I better get on the ball and get a gift made for the little critter. I'm just a little excited, okay, a lot. I, too, love babies. Plus, when we go to see it, we get to go to Manny's. Yeah, a win-win situation.

Thanks, Angel, for answering my questions, I felt left out of the loop, lol. I think it's cool that you all have that in common. It's nice to have others to share that stuff with. I love the movie Office Space, but people in this house just don't find it as amusing as I do. I love Milton and the boss, Gary Cole is funny guy even as Mr. Brady in the Brady Bunch movies. I'm into that off beat comedy stuff.

Okay, I'm done babbling, I'm not a brook. See ya.

I Got It!

Due to the outpouring of support, I will not quit. Thank you all, maybe that's all I needed to hear. My little attempt to gain sympathy. lol

On another note. It's been a nice day. Hubby got me 2 roses to symbolize our 2nd Valentines day together, and a balloon with candy, plus card. Saturday night, we are going to dinner and a movie. I got him an ice cream cake from DQ and a balloon bouquet and cards. Got cards for the kids and Mom too. We gave Mom a pretty lilac candle. The dogs even got a card for Dan.

No, brother dear, I don't think I will devote my life to Blake Atherton, it's so nice how you reading my diary when I was in 4th grade still comes back to haunt me. Kinda like the time you stepped on that rake and it flipped up and hit you in the face just like in the cartoons. Funny stuff right there.

I think my daughter had a little too much fun and sugar at school today, she's just wound up. Squealing and laughing, it's cute.

Blogging Blues.

I'm just not feeling my blog lately. I think I have a fog. I know a few people read it, but I don't get many comments. I read others and I do try to comment, but sometimes I just get the feeling that I'm wasting my time. I don't know, I may keep it up and I may just go cold turkey and stop writing and reading all together. I'm waffling right now. I guess we'll just have to see what happens.

Valentine's Day!

Well, I was reading another blog and I am stealing an idea from another source. I am going to give my version of greeting cards that you will not see at the store.

The redneck VD card

I love you so good
I think of you when I chop wood
When we are sitting is this here Denny's booth
I would even give you my one tooth!

Honey, I killed you this deer,
Now gut it and get me a beer.

We have made so many memories in my truck
Like when you got pregnant because of our first (bleep)

I love that you are so smart
You even pull my finger when I fart!

I'm sorry our trailer was wiped out in the twister,
but I'm so glad that you are my wife and my sister.

Happy Valentine's Day from our neck of the woods.

Blood, Blood, and More Blood!

Here's a quick recap of the events of the last few days.

Alex was sick and then Erin was sick. She finally got a good nights sleep Saturday night. She poo-pooed twice and then went to sleep around midnight. We have a baby moniter in her room so we know that she didn't wake up during the night. I got up about 8 but since she was quiet I laid in bed for a while. I heard her start playing around 9 and told hubby she was up, then we hear Mom say that somebody better come get the kid because she was full of blood. She had a nosebleed and there was blood all over. I showered her and mom and Dan took care of her white sheets. On a good note, she was feeling 100% better. I think maybe she needed a good poo and that seems to have done the trick because she has been sleeping fine since.

Yesterday afternoon, Dan and I were going to the grocery store and then I had my Weight Watchers meeting, but fate had other things in store for us. We were chatting and I looked to my left and saw a deer running right at us. There was no way to avoid it, so I braced myself and the thing hit us behind the drivers door and then hit the back quarter panel and then it finally landed on the other side of the road. Poor thing was still alive. Dan was driving and pulled over, called the police, then I called Mom and then Alex to let him know that Dan would be delayed getting home. A conservation police officer was the first one there and he had to shoot it to put it out of it's misery. Mom showed up just in time to witness that. Apparently, three deer shot across the road before that one. Dan and two other guys that stopped saw them. I don't know how I missed them. I'm just glad we didn't have the kids with us and that we had the mini-van instead of Dan's car. Dan called a couple of his family members to see if they wanted the deer(yuck), none of them did, so we had Alex ask his friend if his dad wanted it, and he did. They live right behind us. As it turns out, the dad had driven by and saw us, but he saw there were several cars stopped, so he kept going. He came back and got it. Later on, Alex and Dan went over to help him field dress it. I guess poor Alex got quite the country boy education and Dan said Al almost threw up a few times. How funny.lol. Needless to say, I didn't make it to my meeting, I'm kind of disappointed, because I've done really well. I'm a little sore because I tensed up when the deer hit us. Oh well. I'll get over it.

I know that this is a rambling post, but I've been up since 4 am and my thoughts aren't really focused. I just could not fall back to sleep. I couldn't get comfy and hubby was snoring very loud. We have to go get hubby a new coat today, we are throwing out the other one because he got blood all over it helping our neighbor put the deer in his truck. After we get the coat, we are going to stop at Dan's brothers to see if he can make my brother a nice little key holder. Then, we will come home so Dan can take a nap because he has to work tonight, I imagine I'll take a nap too. I'll probably need one.

Have a great day, everyone!

NEXT!

The princess is sick now. Alex was sick Tuesday and now Erin has a high temp and just for kicks, she threw up on me at 2:30 this morning. Boy am I going to be great at work today. I have to be there in a little over 4 hrs and she's still up. Seems to be feeling better, she's playing with chairs right now and she did drink some water and take some meds for me and kept them down, so maybe I'll lay her down with me and hopefully get some sleep. My tummy is rolling, too. I took some pepto and I'm just willing myself to not get sick. Here's hoping. I'm glad I only have to work 4 hrs. Hubby is off the next 3 days, so he can take over the night shift for me and hopefully I'll get some sleep. It's not been a very good week for sleeping. But, that's what being a mommy is all about.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend. See ya.

Bite Me, Phil!

That damn groundhog saw his shadow. Of course with all the spotlights and people around him, I 'd run into my house, too. I never understood how they figured out that a beautiful sunny day that rodent sees his shadow and predicts 6 more weeks of winter. The calender says there are 6 more anyway. I am so ready to open my windows, go without a coat, not have to bundle the kids up. I realize that we have had a mild winter, but bite me, I've still had to have my heat on. Oh well, just one more thing for me to bitch about.lol

I worked all day today and over the next few weeks I'll be getting some pretty good hours. It's cool because we want to make an extra house payment and if we do that each year, we can pay off our house in half the time.

Dan is trying so hard to figure out what to do for my birthday/our first anniversary. He keeps saying that he is planning something. Poor guy tries so hard.

Erin's room is looking really cute, I just need to paint and put up different window treatments. Nice little girly room.

Well, that's it. Dan's at work and I'm tired so I'll be hitting the hay soon. Except, I think I hear the princess. Little shit has been getting up in the middle of the night lately. Oh well.
