Blood, Blood, and More Blood!

Here's a quick recap of the events of the last few days.

Alex was sick and then Erin was sick. She finally got a good nights sleep Saturday night. She poo-pooed twice and then went to sleep around midnight. We have a baby moniter in her room so we know that she didn't wake up during the night. I got up about 8 but since she was quiet I laid in bed for a while. I heard her start playing around 9 and told hubby she was up, then we hear Mom say that somebody better come get the kid because she was full of blood. She had a nosebleed and there was blood all over. I showered her and mom and Dan took care of her white sheets. On a good note, she was feeling 100% better. I think maybe she needed a good poo and that seems to have done the trick because she has been sleeping fine since.

Yesterday afternoon, Dan and I were going to the grocery store and then I had my Weight Watchers meeting, but fate had other things in store for us. We were chatting and I looked to my left and saw a deer running right at us. There was no way to avoid it, so I braced myself and the thing hit us behind the drivers door and then hit the back quarter panel and then it finally landed on the other side of the road. Poor thing was still alive. Dan was driving and pulled over, called the police, then I called Mom and then Alex to let him know that Dan would be delayed getting home. A conservation police officer was the first one there and he had to shoot it to put it out of it's misery. Mom showed up just in time to witness that. Apparently, three deer shot across the road before that one. Dan and two other guys that stopped saw them. I don't know how I missed them. I'm just glad we didn't have the kids with us and that we had the mini-van instead of Dan's car. Dan called a couple of his family members to see if they wanted the deer(yuck), none of them did, so we had Alex ask his friend if his dad wanted it, and he did. They live right behind us. As it turns out, the dad had driven by and saw us, but he saw there were several cars stopped, so he kept going. He came back and got it. Later on, Alex and Dan went over to help him field dress it. I guess poor Alex got quite the country boy education and Dan said Al almost threw up a few times. How funny.lol. Needless to say, I didn't make it to my meeting, I'm kind of disappointed, because I've done really well. I'm a little sore because I tensed up when the deer hit us. Oh well. I'll get over it.

I know that this is a rambling post, but I've been up since 4 am and my thoughts aren't really focused. I just could not fall back to sleep. I couldn't get comfy and hubby was snoring very loud. We have to go get hubby a new coat today, we are throwing out the other one because he got blood all over it helping our neighbor put the deer in his truck. After we get the coat, we are going to stop at Dan's brothers to see if he can make my brother a nice little key holder. Then, we will come home so Dan can take a nap because he has to work tonight, I imagine I'll take a nap too. I'll probably need one.

Have a great day, everyone!

I put in an order with mother for some deer jerky, but I don't know if it was passed along...Free meat is better than no meat...Twist it how you will.

I thought the game was "Smear the Queer", not "Smear the Deer"?
