Mike and Rob

Okay, the swiss steak is this Sunday and I haven't made chili in ages, gee whiz. By the way, I would love some KFC, love me some snackers. Of course, Outback, Texas Roadhouse, Chili's, and some chicken marsale from Tuscany, sounds good.

Life.

Well, I think Al is going to try to go to school tomorrow. He doesn't need to get too far behind. He has to miss Friday for his follow up appt. He's not really eating and he does seem to tire easily. He actually gets off the computer on his own, rather than us telling him that his time is up. He hasn't talked on the phone very much either. So needless to say, he is just not himself.

I haven't felt very good for the last few days. I have this nagging headache that just won't really go away. It actually seems to get worse after I eat, weird. The nice thing is I've been losing a little weight. I'm trying to find a job. I filled out a few apps and have been keeping my eyes open, they are building a new Wal-Mart in Shelbyville and I'm kinda hoping that they start taking apps soon. I wouldn't mind working there, of course, I would prefer not to be a cashier, but at this point, I'm willing to do just about anything.

Erin turns 13 on Thurs. I'll probable send cupcakes to school with her that day and then Sunday we are having swiss steak and pumpkin pie. Dan will be working a lot of overtime to make up for what he had to miss, so mid October we are going to take the kids to a pumpkin patch. Hopefully Alex will be able to put weight on his foot by then.

Well, I'm off to bed. Hubby and I have to run to Decatur in the morning to drop some papers at Al's dr.'s so that hubbies fmla gets done. Plus, I have a few other things I need to do and I'm making chili for supper.

This and That.

My nephew is getting married today. I would have liked to gone, but money is very very tight and Alex wouldn't be too comfy in a car for 4 hrs with his foot. Mom wasn't able to go because they upped what they are supposed to do for work and since she missed a few days when Alex had his surgery, she had to work overtime to play catch up. She's working today, she'll actually be able to get more done today than during the regular work week. Hubby goes back to work tonight, he took fmla because he didn't want me to have to be alone with Al just in case he fell or something, he's a big kid, I wouldn't be able to pick him up.

On the Alex front, he is doing much better. Driving me nuts, so he is going to school on Monday, lol. When they were transferring him to his bed in the hospital, after surgery, he had the nurses laughing. He was still really groggy and they asked how he felt and he said he felt like a new woman and then he did the music from the Shania Twain song. Crazy kid. Later that night, Mom and Erin were there with us, and he started scratching himself, I asked what he was doing and he said his balls itched. Dan and I were telling him this the other night and he didn't remember any of it.

Erin had a good time at the family festival. It was a beautiful day, but I didn't think about sunscreen, so we all got burnt. Poor Erin got a blister on her ear, it didn't bother her, but it did me.

Well, that's all for now, got to go see what I'm going to do for supper.

10 things.

Here's my list of 10 things I would never say, stolen from Angel, who stole it from someone else.

1. Boy, I wish Alex was twins.
2. No, honey, I actually wish your penis was smaller, lol.
3. I want to do the dishes tonight.
4. I love having my period.
5. Maybe the kids should live with their dad.
6. My boobs are too small.
7. Yes honey, lets move next door to your ex wife.
8. Lets invite your parents over for supper.
9. Let me clean up that cat puke or dog puke.
10. Let's install a video camera in our bedroom.

Some Misc. Pics

Here are some pics from the weekend. Erin and Daddy in front of a truck at the family fest. Elvis was at the festival. Alex was all ready for the homecoming dance. The kitten found the turtle today. Dan was framed. His shirt has an egg that said I'm happy because I just got laid. Tomorrow the boy has his surgery.

By the way.

I almost forgot, tomorrow we are going to the family festival for special olympics. I had forgotten about it until hubby said they sent a shirt and name tag home. Should be fun. I guess we will be missing the Cowden yard sales. Oh well.

Update on Al.

Well, his ankle didn't heal as the doc would have liked, so on Tuesday, Al has to have surgery. They will be putting a plate and some screws and who knows what else in there. The doc came in with the x-rays and he's rubbing his chin saying that's interesting. He looked at Al and said, don't you just love it when docs say something is interesting. Then he told us that the ankle shifted and he also wanted to take x-rays that were higher up on the leg because he said that Al could have broken that, too. But he didn't, so that's good, but like I said, he is having surgery. Of course, all Al was worried about was that they didn't do it today, so he could go to homecoming.

We went to the store my nephew works at in the mall and got Alex an outfit to wear. He is going to wear black dress shorts and a nice button down white shirt. I'll take pics. I know it sounds weird wearing shorts to a dance, but like Larry said, with a broken leg, he has the perfect excuse.

I Feel Pretty!

Okay, I feel better about myself. I finally got my hair cut. It's been since April. I've been letting it grow out, but it got so shaggy and I had this funky mullet thing going on, so, I had it shaped up and next I would like some highlights, but right now, we just don't have that kind of money. Oh well, you win some, you lose some.

Al goes to the doc tomorrow. We'll see what happens.

GRRRRR!

Okay, this is going to sound dumb, but this summer, I fell in love with the reality show, Rock Star Supernova. I never like reality tv, but this one really grabbed me. Tonight was the final and my guys were the first to go, I was shocked! The one that I really loved, Ryan Star, was cut a few weeks ago, but he got to come back last night and sing his original song and he won a car. Tonight, my second fave was the first to go, Magni. Then they cut Toby, who I really thought would take it all. They ended up picking Lukas, who looks like he is having a seizure when he is singing. I'll have to listen to them, but I think it will be really hard to watch Supernova perform. Oh well, Tommy Lee is the drummer, so I guess I can watch him.

Misc.

Mike, I have been reading your blog but it won't let me comment. So, I haven't been ignoring it.

Alex is doing okay. We went to the specialist and he says that he doesn't think Al will need surgery. He goes back on the 15th for more x-rays then they will see if he can start putting weight on it. He has a date for homecoming on the 16th so he's hoping that he can do without the crutches. He is in a boot thing that he can take off for showers and baths. He took a bath in our jacuzzi tub tonight, now he's in pain and doesn't want to go to school tomorrow. I don't know if he is over doing it or what. I'll see how he feels in the morning. He can't go on the field trip on Friday because they are going to a ball game and he can't climb the bleachers so he doesn't want to go to school on Friday either. His friend that lives close to us broke his arm on Sunday and he won't be going back to school til Friday or Monday. Must be the season.

Well, not a whole lot up with us. The kitten is playing with a tennis ball right now. She's happy because all the dogs are in bed and she can play without them chasing her.

Boys will be boys.

Alex went to spend the weekend with a friend and he called to talk to Dan. I asked what was up and apparently he was wrestling and twisted his ankle, well I had to drop some money off to him and when I saw his foot it was swollen twice it's normal size. So, Mom and I took him to the ER and it turns out he broke the bone between his growth plates in the ankle. He was all excited on the way to the ER about maybe having to have crutches, but 4 hours later, the pain hit and it wasn't so funny anymore. Poor kid hurts like the dickens, but I have him all settled in bed. He wanted to go back to the friends house, but he actually did change his mind and decide to stay home. I'll take pics when he feels a little better. Thanks for your help, Lisa. I'm glad Mom and Erin didn't have to hang around the ER.

Popcorn Festival

The popcorn fest is in Casey, about an hour and half from here. Dan's mom actually lives in that town, so who wants to go?
