It's Just Another Manic Monday!

Well, I did get to nap today. It felt good and I don't feel like crap. Hopefully tomorrow I will get to do some yard work. But I want to go to Misty's to get a head start on Christmas shopping. Skyler wants me to make him an afgan, so I'll probably do that for all the nephews. They were watching me work on mine. You would think that I was doing something incredible. Oh well. At least I'm cheap entertainment.

Some kids came by today selling candles for the school fundraiser. Of course they are my weakness and I bought 2, one blueberry muffin and cucumber melon. They didn't have lilac. Yankee candle has the best lilac, I actually used mine completely up that Mike got me for mothers day, 2 or 3 yrs ago. The thing burned so low that it cracked. I would love to have a tart burner. Linens and things have yankee candle ones. Christmas idea, people. hint hint.

I really don't have anything interesting to say. But then again, I never do. Hopefully the princess will let me sleep all night. We shall see.

I Don't Remember Eating That!

The last few nights/mornings, Erin has been getting up at odd hours. Yesterday it was 5am and I couldn't get her back to bed until after 6:30 when I finally put her in my bed. Today, it was 4am. I wasn't playing the yo-yo game. I put her back to bed once and then I put her in my bed. I tried my hardest to get back to sleep, but as I lay there, I kept feeling sicker and sicker. Finally, I just gave up and got back up, thinking that if I sit upright, I'll feel better. No suck luck. I managed to throw up everything I had eaten. As I'm getting rid of my food, I notice hot dog chunks. I didn't remember eating hot dogs, but then I remembered that Mom and I went to pioneer days and had corn dogs. Mystery solved. It seems that lately, if I get woken up in the middle of the night, I get really sick to my stomach. It's weird. I'm usually lucky if I get to sleep before 1am and then to get woke up 3 to 4 hrs later, yuck. I did manage to get to sleep around midnight, so I got about 4hrs of sleep. Lucky me.

I don't know what keeps getting Erin up. When she was laying with me, her legs were really restless, which makes it very hard for me to sleep. She's a little bed hog to begin with and when she kicks her legs, that makes it even worse. She has a queen size bed, and she seems to use every inch of it. I would like to get her a twin size bed, because in my twisted logic, I think that she would sleep better in a smaller space because she would feel more secure. I don't know. It really makes sense in my head. It's just hard for me to put it into words, especially right now in my sleep deprived state. I'm such a light sleeper, Dan says that I would hear a mouse fart. I think he is right, but it is so hard for me to get into a deep sleep because Erin is such a wandered and she is so quiet about it. I wouldn't want her to hurt herself.

On a lighter note, I had the nephews again today, they were good. We took the older two to pioneer days with us and then at suppertime, Skyler just would not eat, Dan told him he needed to finish his supper and when Dan went to take his shower to get ready for work, Skyler told me that he just was not in the mood for my cooking. Smart kid. I'm usually not in the mood for my cooking either.

Well, I'm going to start getting the kids moving. Erin's bus will be here at 7:10. At least I can always sleep after they go to school.

Everyone Loves A Parade!!!!!

Oh what a beautiful site, walking into my dining room and hearing country music coming from outside, I looked out and saw rednecks 3 deep in our yard. There had to have been at least 200 and only 50 teeth between them. They were all waiting for the parade, which happened to go right past my house. We should have charged people for sitting and walking in our yard. I hope they stepped in dog poo. At least we had good seats. Of course, we'll be picking candy out of our yard for a month. I wish I would have had a camera. You know they at grasping at straws when there are tractors and bean pickers in the parade. Oh well, what can you do?

I've been watching the nephews today, they have been really good. The baby is all over the place now and pulling up. It is so funny to see the little short guy stand next to the couch and barely clear the cushions. They took a 2 hour nap and played so nicely. Picked up after themselves and ate whatever I fixed without complaining. Wow. It's quite a change from what I had to deal with this summer.

The princess has been trying to be a helper, too. When I was feeding Dax his babyfood, she kept trying to give him his bottle. It was so sweet. She grinned when she saw them come over today. She's been watching them play and interacting with them. And she didn't get jealous like she usually does, because Dax is so busy exploring that he doesn't want me to hold him all the time and he doesn't cry very much.

As for the pees, I think Otis is a tattle tail. He was just barking his fool head off and I went to see what was up and Milo had broken his collar and Otis was just giving him hell. It was funny. Luckily, Milo isn't a runner, he was just laying there chewing on his collar. I'm glad I had new ones for them.

Oh well, that was my day in a nutshell. I have the boys again tomorrow.

You Might Live in Cowden.......

If you sit on your toilet swatting flys, you might live in Cowden.

If you are related to most of your neighbors, you might live in Cowden.

If you had a mullet in your senior picture, you might live in Cowden.

If you can have a high school and/or family reunion at the gas station, you might live in Cowden.

If you drive a truck with a watertank in the back of it, you might live in Cowden.

If you sit on your porch and everyone waves at you, you might live in Cowden.

If you know all the country roads by heart because you have had to run from the cops, you might live in Cowden.

If you don't have a town cop, you might live in Cowden.

If you are excited about seeing the spider monkeys riding dogs herding sheep, you might live in Cowden.

Fart, Fart, Fart!!!!!

That is exactly how my day started. The kid had gas and would not say excuse me for anything in the world, finally I couldn't take his rudeness so I said, very firmly" What do you say?" and before he could answer I said" Be Free!". So now when somebody releases gas of any sort, the kid says, Be Free. I am such a bad influence, but I guess if you can't beat him, teach him how to be more disgusting.

On the same lines, he came home from working at my bro in laws and was very proud when he told me he got paid, the kid had a jar of home made salsa. Great, more fuel for the fire. So he proceeded to eat tator tots with salsa as a snack. No accounting for taste. Hubby wasn't too happy, he said that he didn't want to be the one to open the bedroom door to wake him up in the morning. Can you say, Ass of fire? As long as no one lights a match, we should be fine, and hubby won't even be home from work to wake him up. The air will probably be cleared by then, or it will be like that Fabreeze commercial where the guys keeps opening the door and sniffing. Hubby told me to leave a can of Oust on the porch for him to have when he walks in.As if his ass doesn't stink. They smell like a fresh spring meadow. NOT!

This weekend I will be watching the nephews. Skyler, Ditton, and Dax, sounds like a law firm, doesn't it. At least it will give me something to do since hubby has to work all weekend, Fri, Sat, Sun, and Mon. Oh well, at least his check will be good. And the boys are so cute and funny. They love coming over to Aunt Ami's so they can be at the brick house. I'm sure Skyler will want to have a sleepover. We'll see. Hubby thinks I'm nuts, or too nice. Oh well, it's a change of pace. And I'll get baby cuddle time with Dax. Of course the princess will be jealous, well, she really only gets upset when he cries, she doesn't like that at all. She gives me looks as if to say, Do something fast or else I'm going to get really pissed off. For a girl that can't talk, she sure gets her point across. I can't believe that she will be 12 next month. I have been changing diapers for 13 and a half years without a break. Alex was still in diapers when I had Erin. Oh well, it could be worse.

Well, I think I will try to get some sleep. Well, after hubby calls on his break in a few mins.

Sesame Street Lost Another One!

Just a little FYI, I tweezed my brows today, so I no longer look like Bert from the Street. It needed to be done. That's why I miss school. Other people did it for me. It makes me sneeze.

I also heard a good Your Momma joke. Yo momma bref so bad that when she yawns, her teeth duck. I thought it was funny. oh well.

Spider Monkeys Riding Dogs Herding Sheep!

This, it seems, is the hi-lite of the upcoming Cowden Pioneer Days. I was reading the newspaper and this article made the front page. It seems the half time entertainment at the rodeo is indeed spider monkeys riding dogs that are herding sheep. Man you can not make that crap up. I've also been informed the parade, on Saturday morning, will pass right by our house and all the white trash(whole town?) will be lined up in our yard, hmmmm, I'll have to make sure that I let doggies room so they can plant land mines all over. Now that will be high quality fun right there. Hubby has to work this weekend and Alex will be with Gram at the hot rod show, so alas, I will be missing the fun. NOT!

I made chicken parm and spaghetti for supper and I managed to burn the palm of my hand while I was putting sauce on my plate, hurts like a son of a gun. Ouch! Doing dishes will be fun as Dan had to go to work, he told me to leave them for him, but I just don't see that happening. It would drive me nuts.

Alex is at Dan's bro's house digging again. He was excited about going over there. At least it wears him out and he can sleep at night. Erin is already to go to bed, I've been trying to keep her awake for the last hour. At least until 8. She got picked up at 7:20 and dropped off at 4. What a long day for the princess.

Jasper is still hunting crickets. We seem to have a million in the yard and occasionally one gets in the house. When Dan and I were going to bed last night, Jazz started making this wierd noise, almost like he was talking, and I told Dan to watch out because he was going to yack, and sure enough he did. It was funny, because hubby tried to hold him over his litter box so he wouldn't hit the carpet, didn't work, but well worth the show.

Well, I'm going to find something to do, I hope. Have a good night/day, depending on when you read this.

Cricket, Anyone?

I just watched my cat eat a cricket. He hunted that bug down like a lion on hunt. How boring is my life that watching that was entertaining, or just noteworthy? Oh well, it can't always be rainbows and butterfly's.

Alex started back to school today. Of course, last night he only got about 4 hrs sleep, if he was lucky, the boy could not fall asleep. So after school, he want over to hubby's brothers house and was busy digging for their new addition, and he got home about 5:30, had supper, showered, and was asleep before 8. That will probably be going on all week. They offered to pay him, but he told them all they had to do was give him drinks. I think he is enjoying himself, because you know his momma would never let him just play in the dirt. He said he loved school, also, so he did have a good day. But, I'm sure that will change when they start handing out homework, plus, he will be catching the bus at a quarter after seven.

Hubby made supper tonight and he cleaned the kitchen, he must want to get some tonight. He's so cute. He has to work tomorrow and Wednesday, which sucks. Oh well, somebody has to make money since his wife is so lazy.

Well, I'm off to bed, hubby is trying to butter me up by saying I'm not lazy and have one of the toughest jobs on earth. So, I'll try to update tomorrow on Erin's first day back to school.

Do You Know The Mullet Man?

Last week, Dan and I went to his high school to register the kids for school, and in the hallway they have pics of the graduating classes(Dan's had 17). Anyway, I swear all the guys in his class had mullets, hubby included. He was such a skinny thing. So cute. I love him to death. awww. every one can gag now.

My sister posted a very complimentary picture of me on her blog. Very nice. Right around the time I graduated, and speaking of senior pics, I had a Debbie Gibson hat on in mine, so I guess I don't have room to talk.

I'm having writers block, so everyone will have to forgive me. Things are happening, but I just can't seem to put it into words.

It's going to be so quiet around here after the kids go to school. I feel guilty for not working. At least during the summer I have an excuse, finding someone to watch Erin can be a challenge, but hubby doesn't want me to work, because he wants me to be available for school functions and if they get sick or have appts plus, he can make more in one night than I can all week, so I guess he has a point, I still have guilt pangs for not helping out with finances, especially when we have to struggle. Oh well. We'll get it together, I hope. Maybe that's why I haven't written. Who knows.

Well, that's it for tonight, don't be surprised if I don't blog over the weekend, hubby is off and we have some lost time to make up for. lol

A Wrinkle In Time!

Help! I have lost a whole summer. The kids go back to school on Monday. Erin was supposed to go today but they weren't bussing until the 29th, so I called her school to let them know that she wouldn't be there. They weren't happy about that so a call was made to who ever happens to be in charge of bussing and her driver stopped by today to say that she will be going on Monday. I'm going to miss those buggers. I don't feel like we did anything with there time off. Alex doesn't seem to care one way or another that he goes back to school. Hubby is happy, he won't have to share me, but that just means that he has to listen to me talk and carry on, so I think he'll start wishing they were home. Maybe I'll start watching soap opera's, hmmmm, that's an idea.

Not a whole lot going on. Alex wasn't feeling well yesterday. He was just achey all over. So I had him rest most of the day. I'm hoping that we get some of the storms that are supposed to happen. I cleaned out my ice box tonight. The cat has decide to start laying on the table, Dan is not happy about that. There is nothing on T.V. Right now I have Being Bobby Brown on, that man is tore up. And Whitney looks like hell. Kids, let that be a lesson about drugs and booze, don't do it.

Well, I better put the princess to bed.

bye the way

I ran into Mike Marconi(?) at Meijers today. 2 old bosses in as many days......creepy. He also asked about you, Will. We'll have to go to the 49er sometime when Dan is off work.

Reply To Sister Dear.

Man, I don't blog for a few days and people act like the world is over. As I see it, my sister hasn't been very consistant in her blogging, either.

Right now, I'm in Springfield. Last night I went out with friends for bachlerette party, I had a really good time. Saw Mike Taylor in Two Brothers, he asked about you, Will, he said he has been trying to get a hold of you. Hubby is working all weekend so I'm just staying here until tomorrow because Erin has an appt with her orthopedics doc. Hubby isn't happy with me being gone all weekend, we miss each other, but that will happen.

Tonight, we had weiner wraps and malts. Yummy good. Now I'm going to relax and read.

Bye.

Blast From The Past!

I recieved a phone call tonight from one of my very very best friends growing up, Damarius, and I know I just spelled your name wrong. Sorry. But anyway, it's always so nice to catch up and talk about the fun stuff we used to do. Or should I say stupid. She reminded me of the time that Mom, Mike and I had her locked in our livingroom killing a bat with a tennis racket for us. The cruising of the streets of Savanna listening to Prince and Janet Jackson. Boy were we a sad pair. Lately, it seems my friends have a knack for calling me when I'm feeling disconnected from the outside world. Last week, Jen called and then the call tonight. Thanx. I needed that.

While I was on the phone, Al came in and stated he needed to change his shorts. He totally ripped the crotch out of these camoflage shorts Gram just got him. Boys!!!!!! Carie, tell Ashley to stay away from them, they are a bunch of poopy-heads. Lol. I guess I'll have to see if mom can fix the shorts. That is not something I have any idea of how to do. The boy came in and was just filthy, he said that the shorts got caught on his bike. All I can do sometimes is shake my head. I just had him take a shower and now he is out here wearing his boxer inside out. Okay, he said that they are not inside out. He's right, they are just faded from being washed. He didn't want me making a fool of him on my blog. I don't have to, he does enough on his own. Oh but I love the silly goose.

Trying to get the princess to stay in bed. She's playing with the chairs right now. I'll go put her back in her room in a minute. She came out and was shaking her cuppy at me. She really was thirsty, drank 2 cups of milk, yikes. I guess I need to buy a cow because now the boy is into the last of the milk, we had a gallon and a half yesterday, now he is finishing it off. Could be worse, I guess.

Well, I'm off to get Erin to bed. Nighty nite, everybody.

I Made More Cookies!

I made more cookies today, they turned out better. I also did some painting in my living room. That turned out good as well. Dan and Alex and Jackson(one of our new ones. lol) cleaned the porch today, so it doesn't look like Sanford and Son. Erin keeps stealing Dan's chair. Everytime he gets up, she sits in it and laughs her pretty little head off. She is so cute. She's just kicking her little legs. Oh Daddy has cookies, so we're going to sit on his lap and help him eat. Me and my shadow. Awwwww.

Not a whole lot going on. Had a good meal at moms last night. Tonight we grilled hamburgers and I made cole slaw for Dan and Erin. I think that I'm going to go relax for a while. I'm tired today and I don't know why. Tomorrow is school registration. Yippee. The kids start back in 2 weeks, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself. I wish I could go to work, but it's hard to work around hubby's schedule. Oh well. I'll figure something out.

Have a good one, Ya'll.

MMMMMMM, Swiss Steak!

Oh my life is great. I get swiss steak on Sunday. I have such a good mommy. Hubby is off from work, his kids leave Saturday, so my life can get back to what is normal for us. Needless to say, my good humor has been severly tested. If I thought Alex was a trying kid to parent, Dan's kids have him way beat. Oh well. I'll try my best.

Right now, the princess has taken over my bed. For whatever reason, she climbed into my bed and covered herself up. When I went to check on her after Dan called, she was sound asleep. So I guess I'll be having company in bed tonight. Jacob said he wanted to sleep there too. I said no. At least hubby is working tonight, so I can just let Erin stay where she is, and she is on his side of the bed, so that works out.

A couple of days ago, the town cop quit. So we are without law enforcement in this town. If there is a problem, we have to call county. So I hope there aren't any emergancies. Ah, small town life. Isn't it grand?

I'm tired. I would love to go to bed, but hubby will be calling in thirty mins, so I need to wait.

Later, peeps!

Betty Crocker Revoked My Cooking Privledges!

Why is it that I can never get my baking to work out like moms? I made chocolate chip cookies and they are really flat, I managed to burn some. They stuck to the pan. They taste ok, just look sick. This is why mom always mixed them up and I baked them. Oh well, that will learn me.

We are just hanging around waiting for Dennis and Peg to get here. They have stuff for Dan's kids. I'm giving them some jam too.

I did get a welcome surprise today. My friend, Jen, called. I needed that. She's getting married on Sept 17 and wanted my address for the invite and also to invite me to her bachlerette party and shower. I can't wait. I need some time with adults.

Well, Dennis is on the phone. My hubby misunderstood that we were supposed to go over to his house instead of them coming here. Oh well.

I might write more later,maybe.

What Time Is It?

The princess has had me up for an hour and a half. I laid her down 3 times and she's up and down like a yo yo. I finally gave up and cuddled with her on the couch for a bit and started watching the orig. Cheaper by the Dozen. She started getting quiet so I just laid her down again. I'm going to wait about 15 mins before I try to go back to bed. Cowden sure is busy before dawn. Lots of street noise. Hubby is lucky, he sleeps so soundly that he hasn't heard anything. He stirred a little bit the first time she got up, but he has been sleeping soundly and hasn't heard a thing since then. Hopefully, I can get him to get up with the kids and let me catch some sleep. That sounds good in theory. Now whether or not it will really happen is a whole other thing. I sleep so light and the kids really don't know how to be quiet. So I guess today will be my day to be cranky. So, if I don't update tonight, it means I just don't have it in me.

Have a good day, everyone.

Crabby Night, Crappy Night!

Hubby is cranky. He worked last night and got to bed about 8:30 this morning and the kids had him awake at 10:30. I kept shushing them, but they just didn't want to listen, so daddy came out and kicked ass. Gram came down and we finished making jam. We did 3 more doz pints of peach and 2 pints and 6 half pints of blackberry. Next we will be doing grape jelly. I guess that's one way to get Alex to eat fruit. Some will make it to Decatour and some will go to Florida. I suppose some will stay in Cowden and Springfield.

Got all the kids to bed. Hubby has been in the bathroom about 20mins. I wonder if he fell in or fell asleep. Either way, I don't want to go ask. I think it will be an early night. Jazzy has to have his stitches out tomorrow and Dan's dad and step mom are stopping by with stuff for his kids in the afternoon. I need to get the princess to see the dr. because the eczema behind her knees needs prescription meds. Any OTC stuff I have used on her has not worked. I would like to make cookies and do some painting in my livingroom. But we shall see.

Any who, night all.
