Hot time in the old town!

Yesterday morning, I went into my sons room to wake him up and his window was open a bit. I smelled smoke and thought that it was awefully early for someone to be using their burning barrel. Then when I went out to let the dogs potty, the neighborhood was full of smoke. Hubby got home from work and said the little cafe the block over from us was on fire. I heard the trucks soon after that. After we got the kids on the bus, we walked over to see what was going on(we are so whitetrash, we even took pics). There were firetrucks from 6 different towns, the whole place was gutted. The odd thing was, the night before we called over there to order some supper and they were closed. Anyway, here are the pics.

The visit.

Well, my aunt and uncle were here for a week. It was a great visit. They got to meet my husband for the first time and see Erin for the first time in 4yrs. Both of my brothers managed to make it down to see them. Bob came over twice and Mike went with us to the little Amish village on Sunday and then he took them to the Lincoln museum on Monday. We tried to see my sister, but we were on such a tight time schedule on Saturday, we had to be home with the fixings so Uncle Butch could cook the shrimp boil, we tried to get her to come meet us, but she was busy, oh well, maybe next time. Then we had to be in Cowden by five to have cake with the baby that turned 2. The week flew by. I got an e mail from Aunt Pinkie tonight, they made it home. They decided not to stop for the night. Hubby really wants to go down there for a visit, so would I. Alex loves it in Florida, I think he was ready to go with them when they left. Goofy kid.
Here are some misc. pics.

21!

Yikes, today is my nephews, Trenton, 21 birthday. I remember the morning he was born. I was in 8th grade and Lisa had a scheduled c-section. I got to be at the hospital, but I didn't get to see the baby. Now he is married and a father. Wow. Talk about old.
Happy birthday, Trent!

Joys of Parenting.

I was reading the People magazine and I asked Alex if he thought these skinny girls looked good. Then I asked if he would rather be with a real skinny girl or a heavy girl and without missing a beat, he said a heavy girl because it would make him look smaller. Geeze!
