Smells of Childhood.

Tonight, for supper, I made Dan and Erin peel and eat shrimp, fried green tomatoes, and fried zuchini. I had never eaten any of that before, let alone fixed it. Dan and Erin dug right in and enjoyed the heck out of it, hubby said it was really good. I had to take his word for it, I didn't try it. After cooking it and smelling it, I felt like I had already eaten it. It brought back a childhood memory for me, it smelled like Barb Waters old trailer. My siblings probably recall the smell. Fish and fried food. Yucky.

I just thought I would share that. I'm going to bed right after hubby calls. I have to get up at 4:30 a.m. Long day.

Okay, everyone can you tell who can't sleep? I'll give you a hint. It's me! I know that Erin will be up bright and early and around 8pm, I was fighting sleep, but now that it really is time for sleep, here I am. No particular reason. I hope this doesn't happen tomorrow night. I have to get up around 4:30 on Thurs morning. Erin has her yearly ultrasound on her kidneys at 8 ish in Springfield, you know that hour and a half drive. After the ultrasound, she goes to see her urologist. Eventually, she will need surgery, but as long as there aren't any changes, it can be put off for awhile. It's very invasive surgery and then she would have to be cathed from her stomach every 4hrs without fail or her bladder would burst, so needless to say, her dr and I put it off as much as we can. Plus, it's been quite a long time since she has had an UTI, which is a good sign. I'm rambling, I know. Sorry.

It's really quiet here. Dan is working, Al is at his dads, Mom is in Springfield. So it's just the princess and I and the critters. I'm going to try to get some plants transplanted tomorrow. Dan and I painted the wrought iron outside yesterday. Hopefully, it warms up soon so I can jump in the pool.

Well, I'm going to try to sleep. Night.

Nothing exciting to report. Alex is leaving Saturday. He will be at his dad's for 2 wks. We'll pick him up the weekend Dan goes to get his kids. Tonight, Al has a friend over. They've been on the computer all evening.
Here are the pics of my veggies. I took them on Tues and the tomatoes have doubled in size in the last 2 days. I still haven't gotten the pics of the dogs. I'll get to that.

Monday.

Nothing too exciting to report. Alex and I mowed while Dan slept because he has to work. Cleaned Erins pool. We were in the big pool for a while this evening. Erin's was still too cold for her to get into but she sat on the outside of it and had a good time splashing. Tomorrow, we will be able to let her loose in hers, both my kids love the water.

My little garden is doing great, I have a few tomatoes and peppers. We've already had lettuce and green onions out of there. I really need to take pics of it, I will try tomorrow and to take pics of the pool for Aunt Pinkie.

World Record.

Alex and I were just watching "I've got a Secret." and this guy holds the world record for kicking himself in the head. Alex has been doing that for a while, so he has decided that this summer, he will break the record, it's 42 times in a minute. I guess it's good to have a goal. When he goes back to school with brain damage, at least he can tell them it was for a world record.

So, Sunday, we were having a very nice visit at my sisters. Alex had gone to an Indian pow wow with Dan's brother and his family and he had a great time. We were set to pic Al up this morning. Well, while I was changing Erin getting ready to leave and go to Petsmart, my cell phone rings, I have Mom answer it. I hear her asking what happened and then she says, who is this. She thought it was my nephew Trenton that had just left with his fiance and new baby to head back home. Well, next thing I know, Mom is saying, do you want to talk to your mother. I get on the phone and Al tells me he is in trouble, he said there was a cop at Rick and Misty's, so I proceeded to yell "what the hell did you do?" and the poor kid bursts into tears and says he got in trouble for indecent exposure. Apparently, he and a group of friends were mooning cars and they happened to moon a cop. All the other kids ran, but Al remembered that Mom always told him not to run from the cops, so he stayed there. Ugh. I was pissed that he would be so stupid, but then I got my sense of humor back and was wondering if he was at least wearing clean underwear and had he wiped his butt. I told him that he was lucky that he didn't have to sit in jail, they would really like to see his butt there. Jack, who lives at Ricks, works for the sheriffs dept, he made Al apoligize to the cop. Needless to say, even though I was able to joke about it, Alex is still grounded. I'm such a hard ass. lol

On another note, I'll post pics of our visit with the new baby later.

Long time, no post.

I know I haven't posted in a while, we had the computer in the shop. I was able to use mom's, but I just didn't want to post from hers, I don't know why, I guess I was just lazy. I have some pics to post and I still need to take pics of Erins room. Mom got back from Florida on Friday night and yesterday was her birthday, I made strawberry shortcake for her. She took the camera to Florida, but she didn't take any pics, lol.

Well, I'll post later, I want to get out into the yard before it gets too hot.
