Bah, Humbug!

I just wanted to tell you guys(brothers) to quit using my blog for your anti-Christmas ramblings. You're really bringing me down, man. lol

Will, this thing about only getting for the children, didn't you already tell me that you have gotten for Lisa and Bob, so does that mean they are children and I'm out of the loop? Hmmmmmmmmmm? I always knew that you guys had it in for me. That's okay, Mom likes me best.lol

As far as you needing a new afgan, just get the yarn and I'll work on it after Christmas. Otay, Buckwheat?

My oldest nephew called the other night and informed me that he and his girlfriend have moved in together and they will be attending the Thanksgiving festivities. He also informed me that he gets a kick-ass discount at American Eagle. That's cool. He said they had a lot of good clearance prices right now, too. So those teenagers I have to buy for may be getting clothing from there, I was thinking Old Navy, but this sounds like a better deal.

Hubby and I have changed plans for his birthday. Instead of Springfield, we will be going to Decatur to go to the Texas Roadhouse(I've never been) and then shopping to walk off the food, we'll probably stop into Larry's work, and then a movie. I might even call my sister to let her know I'm in town, maybe.lol

Speaking of sisters, Lisa, don't forget those pants when you come over on Thursday. You get turkeys from work, Dan got a $10 gift cert for County Market from work, could be worse, could be nothing.

The List for Mummy.

Here's an update and a list. I was trying to be quiet about my list because I wanted to see if hubby and the boy actually pay attention to me and can figure out what to get me. So don't tell them what I'm about to write.

A robe that ties and slippers
A queen size velux blanket
Candles
Anything Lilac(body wash, candles, etc.)
The perfume Exclamation(very 80's, but it's making a comeback,lol)
Silicone bakeware
New bedding
Socks

Nothing too fancy. I'm easy to please. It's hard to think of things for myself. When I go shopping I see all sorts of stuff I would like, but then I forget by the time I get home. I have so much on my mind thinking of what to do for everyone else.

I'm doing well on the afgans for the little nephews on Dan's side. I will have them done in time. Been busy with that and Alex's basketball games. Hubby's birthday is Dec. 10th, so we are going to go out to dinner and a movie and do our Christmas shopping then.

Will, I did see the gift for Mom at Wal-mart, very reasonably priced. You can go on-line and see it, too.

Hello, Newman!

Well, I got the job at the Post Office. To be perfectly honest, I didn't think I had it. It's so nice to know that I will be working. It's not full time, but it could become full time. Christmas money. Yeah. Right now I'm in the process of doing little crafty gifts for Christmas. I really need to work on that, so if I don't update, it's all good. Alex has ball games all next week. Busy busy.

Always Listen to Your Mother!

I told my son to wear a belt, but does he listen, Hell no. We were at the Festival of Trees last Thanksgiving weekend and he was running out to the van and his pants fell down. He looked like one of those idiots on Cops that tries to run but gets all caught up in his pants. Of course, being the mom that I am, I found it hilarious. My sister took the pic. My son has no shame anyway. Teenagers, geesh!

He did impress me over the last couple of days. Yesterday, I get a note from his teacher saying that Alex had to talk to me about something. He wanted to wait until Dan went to work and then we talked. It seems that 2 weeks ago on a field trip, he kissed a girl, that in itself shocked me, but that wasn't what was wrong. It seems the girl then got mad at Al this week and accused him of doing something else. His teacher totally didn't believe the girl and she admitted she lied because he didn't want to be her boyfriend, but Al didn't get pissed or even act like anything was wrong. I asked him why he was so calm about the whole thing and he said that he knew he was right and did nothing wrong except kiss a girl at a school function. Impressive. Needless to say, he learned that girls can say and do lots of different things to screw a guy over. Of course hubby told him that not all the girls were that way, he said sometimes you get lucky and find one like me. AWWWWWW. This has been one of those times that it has really benefitted me for be able to talk to Al about everything. I'm glad that he still talks to me. Hopefully this won't keep him from dating, but just not yet. I'm so not ready. He is such a good kid and I'm glad that he stood up for himself. His teacher said we could file a complaint, but Al doesn't want to because he thinks that the girl is getting punished enough at school and home. He is so kind-hearted, I might have ripped her head off, but not him. His teacher even said she would rip her face off if it happened to her. Kids surprise you sometime. I guess I'm doing something right. What a crap-shoot being a parent is.

Don't Rain on My Parade, Bitch!

I finally had my interview for the post office job today. She only had one other to interview and will make a decision quickly. I think I did well, but there is always self doubt because I'm new in town and she doesn't know me well. I guess we'll see what happens. If I don't get it, I think I'll start looking for something. Or maybe I'll get a hobby.
Hubby didn't want to go to work tonight and I told him that he had to go unless he was going to start turning tricks. So he went. Good man. His plant is doing layoffs, but his department is short and you have to have certain qualifications, so his job is safe. It would be hard for someone with seniority to bump him. Of course, I think he would welcome the break, the only thing is, he would lose his insurance and he has to have that or his ex wife can take him back to court. Fun, he's kinda stuck, even finding a new job would be difficult because most of them you have to wait for benefits. I wouldn't mind working and letting him be Mr. Mom, but again, it boils down to the insurance.
Sorry, brother, we gave away all the candy, we even gave away the bowl. I didn't want it around the house.
Slowly, slowly we are getting the house organized, it's looking good. Hubby and I put dark curtains up in our room so hubby can sleep in his cave during the day. Our room was just too bright for him. Of course, he would sleep better if I didn't keep going in and out of the bedroom and bugging him. I get bored when the kids are in school. Poor man.
Well, that's about it for me tonight. I'm just rambling anyway. Happy November. By the way, I was in Wal Mart over the weekend and there was a sign that said only 9 Saturdays until Christmas, Yikes.
