Can You See the Light Through the Hole in the Seat of Your Underwear?

The other day, my man Dan being the good Cinder-fella that he is, was doing laundrey and he comes upstairs all serious and asks if money is really that bad. Of course that got me curious and I had to ask why, he proceeds to hold up a new pair of Alex's underwear and says its pretty bad that we can't afford decent underwear for the boy. Alex has this nasty habit of leaving his clothes on the bathroom floor after a shower and the puppies had gotten his underwear and eaten the whole seat out of them. It's not even the first pair this happened to. They like to make sure that no one can wear them again. The hole was as big as the back flap of a union suit. This is the stuff I live with.

Went to the Wal-mart today and got a few things, nothing exciting. Came home and had supper then we went to Alco in Shelbyville to get a twin size airmattress that was on sale and of course they were out of them, so had to do a raincheck. Had some ice cream from Dairy Queen, came home and while I was cleaning the kitchen my little Princess was bouncing on her bed having a grand time. Then that apparently wasn't entertaining enough so she laid on her back and started flailing her arms, legs and head around. Poor thing looked like she was having a seizure, but she was laughing the whole time. She then saw that I was in the kitchen so she decided to join me and laugh at her reflection in the oven and move the stools all around. Never a dull moment.

Well, hubby is waiting very impatiently for me to finish. So I'll leave you all now.

Here I Is!

Just so everyone knows, our computer is sucky right now. Hubby was on the phone with Consolidated and they say it's our firewalls, he says they are full of shit and that it's the modem but that would mean that they would have to replace it. So, if you don't see updates it's due to this dang thing, or hubby is off work and we are having lots of "Adult Time". he he he.

Having given you all the details, let me tell you how I enjoyed Manny's. There was a time I would have said that it's better than sex, but now that I have gotten hitched to the energizer bunny, I will just compare it to chocolate. Wonderful, I could go for a Manny's pizza right now, Dan is working. He also got his Manny's cherry popped(graphic?) and he enjoyed it as well, I think I almost have him convinced to move up there.

Right now I'm hard up for entertainment. I have Dancing with the Stars on the t.v. and I'm actually enjoying it. How sad.

Erin discovered the turtle tank today. She was standing over it looking inside and laughing. It was so cute, but it also scared me because I worried about her dumping it over on herself or getting burned on the lights, so I had to put an end to her fun. She has taken the diningroom chairs out to the living room several times today and last night while she was supposed to be in bed. One of those nights. I guess she just wasn't tired. Spoiled little princess, how can you not love her?

I made bbq chicken breasts on George tonight. Erin and Dan loved them. Also made peanut butter cookies with peanut butter cups tonight. Don't get excited, they were pillsbury. But the princess enjoyed the heck out of them.

I got caught making out with hubby before he went to work. I was kissing him goodbye when his sister in law and her mom drove by. Oh well. Won't be the last time. lol

So, I'm going to go catch the end of this show and try to put Erin to bed. Don't get all in an uproar if you don't get updates. Keep in mind the computer problems.

Manny's, Here We Come.

Tomorrow is the day I have been waiting weeks for. I get Manny's pizza. It's pretty sad that my ex-husband thinks I'm being nice by taking Alex up there, but really, it's all about the pizza. Of course, current hubby will probably be the only one on the planet that doesn't like Manny's, he's not a picky eater, but after all the talk I've done about it, he'll hate it. What does this say for my sad little life that pizza will get me so excited? The down side is that I'll have to leave my little princess with her aunt. I know she'll be well taken care of, but I have separtation issues.

In 2 more weeks, we will have 3 other children at the house, Isiaih 4, Jacob 5, and Whitney 9. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also prepared for issues that may come up. Their daddy really misses them. I've been buying clothes for the boys(and loving it) and then we will take Whitney shopping so that she can pick out her own stuff. Gram will come along for a girls day out. Dan will have to have a guys day.

Well, I'm sure I'll have more to write about after the weekend.

Read This, or I'll Drop a House on You!

Hello, all. Another eventful day on the prairie. Had the nephews over today, when Dan got home this morning I was up with Skyler and Dan was being typical hubby and I asked Skyler what we should do with him, of course he said we should throw him away. I told him that if we threw him away I wouldn't be his aunt anymore and I asked what if uncle Dan had a different wife and quick as a wink the kid says"And you had a better husband?" Hubby just can't win with his own nephew. Then Misty brings Ditton over about noon and Alex and the boys gave Milo and Otis a bath, then they all played in the pool(kids, not the dogs, they have their own pool). That in itself was a site, if anyone knows Alex they realize he is a tall big kid and Erin got into the pool too. So anyone driving by could see four children in a kiddie pool about the size of a tin can. White trash anyone? After hubby woke up we decided to put up another pool, when that was done being filled hubby told Alex to shut the hose off, all the while he was spraying the poor boy, in the process of him running from his dad, he gets over the spout and starts screaming his head off, I thought he saw a snake so being the good mom I am. I stayed put and made dad go over there. Next thing I hear is that Alex has a nail in his foot. So dad takes him to the er and calls me up very mad because they would not give him a tet. shot. But they insisted that he would be up to date because of school. But all is well with the boy. This was the first time he was ever in the er for something other than an illness.

So last night we decided to watch a family movie. We watched the WIZZARD OF OZ. Poor Dan didn't know what he was getting into. Alex and I can quote that movie word for word. Dan was ranting about the munchkins marching like nazi's. So it really wasn't as simple as quietly watching. It was interactive. Be warned if you ever watch movies with us, that's what we do.

My sister called and when I was talking to her, my call waiting went off and I was surprised to see it was from my friend John in Nashville, it had been over a year since we talked. So much has happened and it was great to hear from him. But the poor man is still a die-hard Cubs fan. Someday he'll learn.

Tonight, hubby and I are going to Decatur and do a litttle shopping( Dollar Tree, anyone?) and then we are having supper with my sister at Tators. I'm sure I'll have more to say about that.

I wish that I had Jesse's Blog.

Who Farted?

I have a dilemma. At what point is it okay to fart in front of someone? Case in point. The other night when hubby and his brother were rewiring, I was so uncomfortable and needed to relieve the pressure, but anywhere I went I was sure that he(brother) would be able to hear it. Needless to say, I held it in. By the time he left at 3 am I was ready to burst. Hubby walked into the bedroom and I told him I was sorry but I had gas. He told me to do what I needed to do. That was his first mistake. It hit and the house shock, all the dogs in the neighborhood started barking, the town whistle went off. It was bad. He went to take a shower and wait for the room to clear. But boy did I feel better.

So yesterday was Father's Day. Our first as a family. It had been 10yrs since we celebrated Fathers day. Poor hubby was the center of attention. My kids love him to death, especially Erin(the Princess) she just adores him and has to make sure she gets daddy time. She's is going to have a problem sharing him when his kids get here. He is her personal property. Daddy got a new grill and hack saw and yard stick. My mom made him ribs and he just loved them, thats what he had tonight for supper. Only a few left.

Tonight I have his nephew, Skyler over for a sleep over. Skyler is 4 and he said won't Uncle Dan be surprised to come home from work and see his favorite nephew. What a cute smart kid.

Well, got to put a couple of kids to bed and get the dogs to settle down. More tomorrow.

Oh, a big shout-out to my friend John. Nice to hear from you.

We all live in a yellow blog-marine.

15 years. Is That Right?

Okay, today was my 15 year high school reunion. I did not attend. I had waffled back and forth between going and not. But it boiled down to hubby having to work and it's our first fathers day together, so here we are in Cowden. I'm a little disappointed, but this will pass. Actually, most of the people I graduated with still live in that area and next weekend I have to take Alex up to see his dad, so hubby will get his first taste of Savanna and of course, Manny's Pizza. How can you not love that.

My brave sister will be taking care of the Princess and the puppies for that weekend. Then she will keep the puppies until after we get Dan's kids, so after a few weeks with Aunt Lisa, I should have totally different dogs. I hope!!!!!!!!!

I'm rather tired tonight, so being clever just doesn't seem to be in the cards. I promise that I will try harder tomorrow. Please keep reading.

It's 9:30, Do You Know Where Your Mother Is?

For anyone remotely close to me, you know that my mother is my lifeline. I quite literally talk to her several times a day, in some format or another. It borders on stalking. The poor woman could never get too far from me. You would think that since I got married and moved that she would get a break, but no way, Jose. I always find something to talk to her about or need advice on parenting since she knows my children as well, if not better, than I do. I think I have Youngest Child Syndrome, I just can't separate from my mommy, but you know, I really wouldn't have it any other way. I count my lucky stars because she's not overbearing and she lets me make my own mistakes and helps me pick up the pieces without an"I told you so."

On to the progress on the rewiring. Alex's room is done. They are working on the pantry now(still) and will call it a night. Hubby is in the attic, much to my dismay. I have a very, very, very big fear of rodents, be it the crawling or flying kind. So having the attic door open after dark is very unnerving for me. Of course, if the little buggers wanted in bad enough, they would find their way, but why hand them an open invitation.

Having said that about rodents. Approximately a week ago, hubby and I were in our bedroom and he went out to the living room to turn the T.V. off and he told me to stay where I was because we had a visiter of the winged variety. Any sane wife would have letten hubby take care of it and be fine. Not me. I went into the bathroom, started crying, and when he came in to let me know it was gone, that was would he found. This is why I love him. Instead of telling me to suck it up and get over it, he understood and calmed my rantings about what I would do if he was at work and I was invaded. I really need to get over this problem, but I don't know how. I am constantly on lookout for rodents. I must purchase some tennis rackets, then I'll be safe. Childhood trauma brought this on. We had a duplex that had bats and brother Will woke up with one in the morning once and we just seemed to be always under attack, Mom tried to flush them and I can just invision the sewers loaded with bats. One showing up in a different toilet somewhere in town. What a rude awakening.

So now that you are all becoming privy to my insanity, keep reading, it only gets better(worse?)

Blog Like an Egyption

Men at Work!

Today my husband and his brother are rewiring my house. Any sane woman would be very afraid, but I have great faith in the abilities of my husband and brother(hey, I'm good, I got that written without breaking into laughter). Actually his brother is an electrician, so it really is okay. I really think that hubby had different motives for rewiring, he got me to actually organize the house and unpack and find perminant homes for our junk, and might I add, without going into too much of a rant, when hubby and I combined households, he has more CRAP than my children and I combined. Yardsale, anyone. But, anywho, a person might be able to move around in my fishbowl of a kitchen and learn to appriciate the lime green(yes, I picked the color) walls of my kitchen and the orange(again, my picking) pantry. I'll have to get a digital camera and take pictures, I love it, but that's just me.

So hubby and brother are so far in one piece, which is good considering that I get zip if hubby kicks off. Sorry, I love the man madly, so I'm not ready for him to go.

His 4 yr old nephew, Skyler, is here, also. Daddy's little helper. The kid is soooooo smart. Hubby told him that he was the poster child for birth control and without missing a beat the kid looked at him and said, "No, you are" How can you not laugh at that.

Well, I'm sure I will have a whole lot more to say tonight. Keep reading and commenting. This is fun.

The Force Is Not Strong In This One

Hi all! Thanks for reading my blog and commenting. It was very nice to hear from my cousin, Ron. My son had a blast when he was in Florida. Thanx to my brother for pointing out my spelling errors(spell check? never heard of it).

So, let me tell you about my day. I bet you can't wait. Anyway, I didn't sleep worth diddly, had a disturbing dream about the in-laws(won't go into it). Woke up when hubby got home and got ready for the big trip to Springfield. Erin(the Princess) needed bloodwork, she wasn't thrilled, but unfortunately she needs to have it done. Then the family went to Rally's to eat. Dan had never been there. He enjoyed it, but he thought chili cheese fries would be a good idea(the car ride to my mothers proved otherwise for the rest of us,phewww) Then we went to mom's to pick up Erin's diapers and let Max out, he was ever so grateful, he was crossing his legs when we got there. Then we went to my friend Emily's to ohhh and ahhh over her new baby boy(born at the end of Mar. 4 weeks early, but healthy as can be. Over 7lbs.) and I cut her hair. She hadn't had it cut since I did it in early March. Saw Mom at her place of employment. Surprise, Mom.

But, my biggest excitement today was that we(Dan, Alex and I) were supposed to see Star Wars, Episode 3. But, alas, as is the way with my life, my sitter for Erin(sis-in-law Misty) was unable to sit due to her middle son having a gasterial(?) virus. Needless to say, I did not want to subject Erin to that, considering her immune system is probably still weaken from her bout with pnuemonia(again, spell check, anyone) at the end of May. So, instead, hubby and I cleaned our bedroom, actually, we unpacked it. Only moved in April, why rush into anything.

Tomorrow, Dan's brother,Rick, will be installing a new breaker box for us, considering it's still the old screw in fuses, and he will be installing outlets throughout the house, which means we can actually plug in the freezer we purchased in March. Alex has no outlets in his room, this is a very old house. Updating will be a treat. NOT.

Anyway, thank you for your time. I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say tomorrow and I know that you are all waiting with baited breath.

See ya all at the blog

Ramblings of a crazed house wife.

Welcome to the first of many(hopefully) ramblings that I will be posting.

So, my brother, Will, has his own blog and not to be out-done I thought, "What a wonderful idea, surely many would love to hear what I have to say." So, here I sit trying to piece together what scattered thoughts are going through my warped brain at this hour.

Tonight is just like any other night that my wonderful sex-machine of a hubby is at work. Made a wholesome wonderful June Cleaver supper that my son picked at and half-assed paid me a compliment, "The pork is good, Momma, but why is it so chewy?" That was about the time I reached out and bitch-slapped him. No, not really, but won't that make for good conversation? Anyway, hubby actually took hands to washcloth and did dishes for me, he must be horny. Then it was time to get him on his merry way to work. Came in, hung up laundrey, son went to friends so I proceeded to clean his closet. Very scary, indeed. Talked to daughter, not much feed-back from her, a girl of very few words(okay, none, I really think she's faking it and will soon sell the rights to her tell-all book) Brought the dogs in after son made it home. Madness ensued from there. Barking, growling, peeing, and you should have seen what the dogs were doing. Talke to brother Will, sister Lisa, and the matriarche of the family, our mother this evening. I enjoyed a bowl of choc. chip cookie dough ice cream, changed the poopy diaper of the princess and then I started reading blogs to get inspiration.

So, I will be posting my ramblings frequently. Unless hubby is home, he keeps me pretty busy. Got to love the man.

Hope you all enjoy and bear with me while I'm learning my way.

Hasta for now.

Technology will make me insane!

Do you people have any idea how computer illiterate I am. I am not even smart enough to remember my user name. It took me over an hour to get back to this. Man I must be a nit-wit. Now I have to figure out how to send people my blog. Yikes and jinkies. I hope this works or I will jump off my bed( which is the highest point in my house)
